Trekking tour to Mount Corrasi
Our trekking tour to Mount Corrasi (Oliena)
- Hiking 1.463 m above sea level
- Lunar-like landscapes
- High mountain outlooks
This one-day trekking tour to Mount Corrasi will take us to the summit of the Supramonte mountain range, realm of the golden eagles. We cannot wait to share this experience with you!
Soon after parking our vehicles, we will be hiking on the barren flank of Mount Corrasi in order to reach the Isacala ‘e Marras pass.
We will be treading on rocky dolomite ground where only a few age-old yews, junipers, holm oaks and maple trees managed to grow roots. Here the pinkness of wild peonies intersperses wonderfully with the overall whiteness characterising this arid land.
Standing at 1000 metres above sea level, we are likely to spot golden eagles flying high and mouflons capering upon the ridges.
Heading north, we will afterwards be following the ridge of the massif in order to reach the famous Corrasi Valley with its steep slopes and peculiar rock formations.
There Mount Corrasi will finally come into sight, thrusting its peak a few hundred metres ahead of us. Towering at 1.463 metres above sea level, it is the topmost spot in the Supramonte mountain range besides being our last stop. We will pause to admire this panoramic landscape, aiming our cameras at the peaks of Gennargentu, the central massif of the Barbagia region and the Gulf of Orosei. These sights will astound you!
From there, our way back will proceed between the peaks of Punta Carabidda, Ortu Camminu, Sos Nidos and Su Cusidore all the way down the Iscala ‘e Pradu pass.
Beyond the pass, a mere 30 minutes’ walk across the dirt track will take us back to our vehicles.
